Can I Travel on Vacation with Military Passport?

We've chatted before about having two passports and the situations that warrant them. Having a military passport and a travel passport is one of the reasons. We got a reader question from Amanda asking if she can use her military passport for personal travel.

First, thank you for your service, Amanda. Unfortunately, you cannot use your military passport for personal travel. Your no-fee passport can only be used for official military business. To go on vacation, you'll need to apply for a new passport.
