Changing Your Passport Photo

There are quite a few reasons why our readers want to change their passport photo. First, as we all know, passport photos are not flattering. As Emma Bombeck says, "There is nothing more miserable in the world than to arrive in paradise and look like your passport photo."

Second, passports are issued for ten years at a time. Over the course of ten years, your looks can change dramatically - especially if your passport was issued from the time you are 18 to 28.

One of our readers, Laura, wanted to know, "can I change my passport photo if my passport is still valid?"

The answer is that no, you can?t change your passport photo whenever you want. You must renew your passport if you need to change your photo.
