Replacing a Lost Passport

As we graze through our Twitter feed, the most common tweet about passports is people putting out an SOS on a lost passport and not being sure what to do. So, how to replace a passport?

Replacing a passport is basically just getting a new passport, except that you also need to report the loss.

The basic steps for replacing a passport are:
1. Report Lost Passport
2. Complete Application Form
3. Gather Supporting Documents
4. Visit Acceptance Facility

A common question is why you have to report the loss instead of just getting a new one. This is because it is not legal to have two passports at once, so it needs to be recorded that you don?t currently have one.

There's also a handy video on our page explaining the process!
