We got a question from a reader named Carol McNeil. When she received her passport, her name was written "CAROL MC NEIL." She wanted to know if she should have the passport sent back for a change since legally there is not a space between the Mc and Neil.
Since a passport has all capital block letters, a space usually is usually placed to differentiate between the prefix and the rest of the last name. You can legally travel with your passport as is. If you would like to change it for personal preference, you will need to submit for a passport correction.
